How do I care for my jewelry?

Preserve the beauty, shine, and longevity of your handcrafted jewelry. Here are some simple tips to keep it looking its best:

  • Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals or products, such as perfumes, cosmetics, and creams.

  • Remove them before bathing, swimming, or exposing yourself to water: avoid chlorine, sand, and salt water.

  • Remove them during sports or physical activity, to protect them from impacts and sweat.

  • To prevent accidental damage, do not wear them while sleeping. Store them in a clean, dry, and cool place, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

Here are some helpful tips on how to care for and maintain your jewelry.

Maintain the shine

All DEIDDAGIOIELLI items have been treated with a technique that helps prevent loss of shine, but it's still important to follow our advice to optimize their lifespan.

  1. Your jewelry may lose its luster over time if exposed to the open air for a long time.
  2. Loss of shine or tarnishing is a natural process that can be restored with a special wash.
  3. We strongly recommend that you remove all jewelry before going to sleep, showering, or participating in physical activities.
  4. Exposure to certain chemicals or environments could compromise the integrity of your jewelry. Examples include (but are not limited to) sweat, perfume, cleaning products, chlorine, salt water, silver polish, etc.

Cleaning your jewelry

Mix a little soap with warm water and scrub the item with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Toothbrushes are ideal for cleaning hard-to-reach areas of jewelry. If dirt persists, repeat the same procedure with clean water. Important: Gold-plated jewelry requires more care. Intense scrubbing can cause the plating to fade, so it's important to do so gently to avoid wear. A silver polishing cloth is a great tool for restoring the shine of your jewelry if it has tarnished over time. This technique, however, won't remove any scratches or dents on the jewelry.

Keep your jewels

Your jewelry should always be stored away from sunlight and heat sources, ideally in a padded jewelry box or tarnish-resistant bag. You can also store it in individual plastic (polyethylene) bags with an airtight seal. Never use rubber containers, as they will cause the jewelry to tarnish more quickly and possibly turn black. Never store your jewelry in a bathroom or other humid environment. Please note that Deiddagioielli packages are not designed to keep items in perfect condition for extended periods of time, as they are not airtight and discoloration may occur due to lack of use.

Important note

DEIDDAGIOIELLI does not guarantee that the gold plating on our models will last forever. Gold-plated jewelry is generally more fragile and susceptible to discoloration over time. The rate at which the color fades depends on various factors, such as the use of chemicals on the skin, the level of perspiration, or the pH level of the individual's skin. For this reason, it is especially important to properly care for your gold-plated jewelry.
